I have a great idea! Let's have a race at South-Korea too!

While we're at it, hold a race in Bahrain, too.

I do hope it doesn't go the same way as Champ Cars and A1GP did when they introduced new cars. One season and kaput :(

I don't think that's race is ever going to happen. I don't think how it would be any different to all the attempts Champ Car made to try race in those places.

neah, I was just joking, I think they're pretty much safe, as they don't have direct competition in the US, except nascar, and although some of the decisions IndyCar made are stupid, no management could be as retarded as Champcar's was... That being said, they should stay in America until the teams are healthy enough to spend all that dough to travel. I remember the Champ Car teams complaining about the trip to Europe in O7, because most of their sponsor had no market here, and they didn't pay anything...

I'll never understand why on earth Champ Car ever came to Zolder

I can understand going to Canada, Brazil (fuel) and Japan (Honda) but there's no reason to go to China.

Going to Britain would make more sense because of the British drives.

What I'd do is use the soon-to-be old Dallaras to create a sort of Indycar-sanctioned series in Europe. They could race in Rockingham, Eurospeedway and a few cool road courses that don't have FIA grade 1 homologation or insane amounts of money to bid for an F1 race. It could be a series that can provide decent drivers to the main series with experience in this sort of racecars.

A race is announced in China....fan indifference.

Meanwhile Cleveland, Portland, Laguna Seca and Road A-freaking-merica are sitting without a date.

Priorities :(

Someone in China probably came up with a bucketload of cash to get the series there.

You know that GM, Honda and Lotus are the reasons for that Chinese race, right?

I would of figured viewership was a priority. Catering to the area of a race and not the whole deal is a major factor in the failure of ChampCar, guess they never got the memo.

RC Cola Named Sponsor for Marco Andretti’s No. 26 Car in 2012 IndyCar Series

08.28.11 – Dr Pepper Snapple Group, Inc. (NYSE: DPS) and Andretti Autosport announced today that RC Cola will power Andretti Autosport’s No. 26 entry for the 2012 IZOD IndyCar Series season, driven by Marco Andretti, as part of a multi-year partnership.

Since its launch in 1905 (then know as “Royal Crown Cola”), RC Cola has been a soft drink that embodies individuality and entrepreneurial spirit. RC’s crisp, clean taste distinguishes it from other colas and has become a favorite of cola drinkers throughout America.

Car livery and additional details on the partnership will be unveiled at a later date. The No. 26 Team RC Cola car will debut at the 2012 IZOD IndyCar Series season-opener March 23-25 on the Streets of St. Petersburg. 2012 will be the sixth year Andretti Autosport and Dr Pepper Snapple Group have joined together to field an IndyCar.

RC Cola is part of the Dr Pepper Snapple Group based in Plano, Texas. Dr Pepper Snapple Group is the leading producer of flavored beverages in North America and the Caribbean. In addition to their flagship Dr Pepper and Snapple brands, the company’s portfolio includes Sunkist soda, 7UP, A&W, Canada Dry, Crush, Mott’s, Squirt, Hawaiian Punch, Peñafiel, Clamato, Schweppes, Venom Energy Drink, Rose’s and Mr & Mrs T mixers.

Andretti, winner at Iowa Speedway in June, is currently battling for a position in the top-five in the 2011 IZOD IndyCar Series point standings. The Nazareth, Pa. driver currently ranks seventh, just 25 points out of fifth place. The 24-year-old third-generation star has recorded three top-five finishes and six top-ten placings already this year in 11 events. Andretti’s first IZOD IndyCar Series victory came in 2006 at Infineon Raceway, Andretti’s rookie year on the IndyCar trail.

I don't think anyone would tune in on the US (or anywhere with a similar timezone) at 4AM for an IndyCar race. I would, but I have no life.
