Don't know if this has been posted yet, but it's a bloody fantastic feature on Tony Kanaan, it looks like they'll be doing similar one's for other drivers as well

iono, looks weird to me, atleast from that angle. Like the back end's fallen off or something.

I still really dislike the DW12's looks. From some angles it looks like a 3 wheeler due to the sidepods hiding the rear wheels.

This.

I like the DW12 but this config is a little peculiar looking. Kind of reminds me of the low-drag versions Williams tested at Hockenheim during the 1988 GP weekend (and sometime in 1997).

I quite like the speedway config tbh but I just hope it's safe and reduces downforce...

Considering how flat the car looks with the oval kit, the airbox above the driver kinda looks out of place. I would like the cars to have a roll hoop and the air intake for the turbos to come from the sidepods or something similar. Now that'd be awesome.

Speedway config looks cool indeed, from that angle. But I still didn't like that rear wing...I know it's more effective but it's visually strange.

That's only 7 mph off of what they want on Pole Day.

I'm confident they'll get there.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Yeaa they're only testing, they're not yet going flatout and taking risks.

Yeah, today it was just pretty much a shakedown. In may teams will start pushing the car limits, trimming it down and things like that.

225 mph it's a very realistic goal. All through the years of the old car they were doing fastest speeds from 224 to 227, with the slower guys doing around 216-218. It wasn't a constant improvement because the qlf speeds depend on the weather (whether it's windy, overcast, sunny) and slight rule changes that IRL may have done along the years. I think they will get laps at 225 mph and I can only expect that in the near future, when there are lots of engines available, they can increase the boost for qualifying (in addition to more efficient aero kits) in search for laps over 230, and why not, even trying to beat the track record.

So has the DW12 gone through any crashes yet (testing/race weekends) ?

I'm a little worried to be honest.

It passed impact testing before it was selected last year.

Just as a reference, Pippa Mann tweeted that last year she did a 218 on day one, and by bump day she managed to pull a 224 mph 4-lap average. She said it's all about trimming.
