Seems this F-duct front wing Mercedes has may be operated by the DRS system in the rear wing:

Oh, Vitaly. Proving that some things in Russia will never change.

F1 driver in "outspoken opinions" shocker...

The thing you have to wonder about that interview was how did Petrov manage to speak to the press without the PR person grabbing him and smushing his opinions into something blander and more sponsor friendly.

Oh well, maybe this IS Lotus' PR tatic, outspoken opinions to generate their headlines. Makes a change.

Kovalainen is now being sponsored by Finnish game developers Rovio, makers of Angry Birds. I can't decide whether or not I like his new helmet design (and no, this is not a joke!)

May not be great in a traditional sense, and it's another driver changing his helmet design (how often remains to be seen) but I like it.

Does this mean every time a car gets near him it is going to suddenly expand itself to envelope three times the space it did previously?

Could be a good idea for all those who are so anti-DRS :p

Given how ugly most helmets look in F1 because of all the sponsor badges, that one's quite cool really.

That layout looks like it was made for the Bulgarian Touring Car Championship.
